Our Faith

While us within The Primitive Catholic Church; we highly stresses our form of non-dogmatic, non-authoritarian and universally interfaith style of ministry from our laity and to our clergy. We still hold to certain premises of the Christian Faith that we hold to that we maintain all together to help us keep into certain boundaries as a Sacramental Universally Catholic Non-Papal priestly society.  While we do not force these believes upon anyone within the ranks of our laity of our society, these are our boundaries as that our clergy must somewhat hold to being within the historical apostolic succession that we maintain that helps us stay within the historical Catholic and Apostolic Christian Church, which is our right and duty as Sacramental Christians to do.

Affirmation of Faith

We believe that God is Love, and Power, and Truth, and Light; that perfect justice rules the world; that all His sons shall one day reach His feet, however far they stray. We hold the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of mankind; we know that we do serve Him best when best we serve our brother man. So shall His blessing rest on us and peace for evermore.

*  We do use the historical creeds of the Apostles as well as the Nicene Creeds but they are interpreted by the individual believer not forced upon them by The Primitive Catholic Church.

Tenets of Faith

  1. The Primitive Catholic Church teaches the existence of God, infinite, eternal, transcendent and immanent. He is the one essence from which all forms of existence are derived. 'In him we live and move and have our being' (Acts 17:28).
  2. God manifests in his universe as a Trinity, called in the Christian religion Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three Persons in one God, co-equal and co-eternal; the Father the cause of all, the Son the Word who was made flesh and dwelt among us, the Holy Spirit the life-giver, the inspirer and sanctifier.
  3. Mankind is a complex of spirit, soul and body. The spirit of mankind made in the image of God is divine in essence. Therefore he cannot cease to exist, he is eternal and his future is one whose glory and splendor have no limit.
  4. Christ ever lives as a mighty spiritual presence in the world, guiding and sustaining his people. The divinity which was manifest in him is gradually being unfolded in every man until each shall come 'unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ' (Eph. 4:13).
  5. The world is the theatre of an ordered plan, according to which the spirit of mankind, by repeatedly expressing itself in varying conditions of life and experience, continually unfolds his powers. This spiritual enfoldment takes place under an inviolable law of cause and effect. 'Whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap' (Gal. 6:7).
  6. His doings in each physical incarnation largely determine his experience after death in the intermediate world (or world of purgation) and the heavenly world, and greatly influence the circumstances of his next birth.
  7. Mankind is a link in a vast chain of life extending from the highest to the lowest. As he helps those below him, so also he is helped by those who stand above themselves on the ladder of life, receiving thus a free gift of grace. There is a communion of saints, just men made perfect or holy ones, who help mankind. There is a ministry of angels.
  8. Mankind has ethical duties to itself and to others. 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it, thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and Prophets'. (Matt.22:37-40).
  9. It is the duty of mankind to learn to discern the divine light in himself and others, that light 'which lighteth every man' (John. 1:9).
  10. Because humankind are sons and daughters of God they are brothers and inseparably linked together. That which harms one harms the entire brotherhood. Hence a man owes it as a duty to the God both within himself and others, first, to endeavor constantly to live up to the highest that is in him, thereby enabling that God within himself to become more perfectly manifest, secondly, to recognize the fact of that brotherhood by constant effort towards unselfishness, by love of, consideration for, and service to his fellow-men.
  11. The service of humanity, reverence for all life and the sacrifice of the lower self to the higher are laws of spiritual growth.
  12. Christ instituted various sacraments in which an inward and spiritual grace is given to us through an outward and visible sign. There are seven rites which may be ranked as sacraments, namely, Baptism, Confirmation, the Holy Eucharist, Absolution, Holy Unction, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders. The doctrine of these sacraments is sufficiently set forth in the authorized Liturgies of The Primitive Catholic Church. For Christ, is the living head of the church which he had founded, is the true minister of all sacraments in the Church.
  13. Our role model is the Christ, in the form of the Historical Master and Lord Jesus, a potential of love, devotion and surrender to be realized in everyday living through the perceptions of the senses and mind; a happy self-discipline, constantly dwelling in the peace that passes understanding.
  14. We belief in the actual, real, and true mystical presence of the Lord Jesus Christ; body, blood, soul, and divinity; in each and every portion of the Eucharistic Elements of bread and wine; from the moment of their transformation during the Liturgy. We does not identify the process by which this miracle transpires as the Lord Jesus has not seen fit to reveal a mechanism. We simply accept that this mystical truth.
  15. We belief that spiritual and historical Apostolic Succession, vested in the validly consecrated bishops, and passed on by them in the Sacrament of Holy Orders, is necessary for the licit and efficacious celebration of the sacraments.
  16. The Mission of the Church as expressed in the Gospel Verses of Matt. 28: 19-20  and Luke 4:18-19

  18. We affirm the capacity of each person to have mystical experience with God, and enjoy the grace of God.
  19. We believe that God is good and omnipresent is based upon universal spiritual principles as demonstrated and taught by Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior as well as the historical figures such as Buddha, Danika, Lao Tzu.
